Hello, my name is Mwenda Kazadi. I am a young Liberian & Congolese Professional who was raised in the United States. I am passionate about the intersection between Finance, Entrepreneurship, Technology, Real Estate and how skills from those sectors can be applied to Economic and Social development both domestically and in emerging markets (particularly Africa, Middle East, Latin America). African Connections DC Chapter Mission Statement:

The African Connections DC exists to celebrate the diversity of DC by providing a welcoming forum in which community groups can showcase their diverse cultural events, language, arts, literature, achievements and knowledge as a means to promote cultural awareness, community partnerships, cultural diversity and understanding. Regularly scheduled events will foster relationships and provide opportunities for cross-cultural connections.

ACD brings together individuals from diverse cultures and organizations to foster cross-cultural connections and awareness. Through collaboration with individuals and organizations, ACD aims to unify and strengthen the African community in DC by creating a great support system.

We host fun and relaxed monthly networking happy hours, bringing together individuals from diverse cultures and organizations to foster cultural connections and awareness. Through collaboration with individuals and organizations, ACD aims to unify and strengthen our community.

There is no membership or any type of financial charge to be involved with African Connections DC. We just simply want you to come out to our events, enjoy yourself, have fun, and be ready to meet some new people. You are free to invite friends. The more the merrier is our motto. Also please let us know if you wish to be reached via email, text, or facebook message. We will not be setting up a facebook page for this group, seeing whereas we will not be constantly bombarding your inbox with invites to our weekly, daily, and hourly events.
